Their intricate, layered structure provides excellent shelter for shrimp, plecos, and small fish, while also acting as favoured spawning grounds for Dwarf Cichlids and wild Betta species. As they soften and condition in the aquarium, Coconut Fibre Curls release high levels of beneficial tannins and humic substances, creating a rich amber tint and supporting a stable, biologically active ecosystem.

The fibrous surface rapidly becomes colonised by biofilm, fungi, and microfauna, offering a continuous natural food source for shrimp, fry, and bottom-dwelling fish.
