Must Read

Located in the center of the famous Gendarmenmarkt, just a few meters away from the bustling Friedrichstrasse, the 5-star Hilton Berlin hotel is truly in the best location and is the ideal “home base” for a stay in Berlin. Numerous popular sights are nearby. Thanks to its modern conference and event area, the luxury hotel is not only one of the respected addresses in the federal capital for tourists but also for business people. 15 event rooms with state-of-the-art conference technology can accommodate up to 500 guests.

Renovated for 20 million euros

The hotel, which was planned as an Interhotel during the GDR era and opened as the Domhotel one year after the fall of the Berlin Wall, has been part of the Hilton chain since 1991. A few years ago, the Hilton Berlin was completely renovated for around 20 million euros and now shines in new splendor. Only the exterior facade was preserved during these works. The renovation was designed by the renowned design and architecture firm Wilson & Associates, specializing in luxury hotels.

Berlin’s largest Executive Lounge

The first-class hotel has 601 modern rooms and individually designed suites that offer the highest level of comfort. Eleven types of rooms, from the Hilton Guest Room to the Presidential Suite, are available. The suites are particularly popular with guests because of the unique view of the Gendarmenmarkt. In addition, access to the 360 m2 Executive Lounge is included in the price of the suite. Private check-in and check-out, work area and internet access, continental breakfast, cold and hot snacks and drinks all day long, as well as two conference rooms round off the excellent personal service in the Executive Lounge.

Beletage – in the truest sense of the word

However, the special breakfast is served in the Beletage restaurant on the first floor. In addition to an excellent buffet that leaves almost nothing to be desired, the glass dome offers a unique view of the German Dome and Gendarmenmarkt – an additional breakfast treat for the eyes. For lunch or dinner, the Mark Brandenburg restaurant is recommended, which places great emphasis on fresh products and the special regional cuisine. The Mark Brandenburg is also a top address for beer lovers. Here, an exquisite selection of top-fermented ales and bottom-fermented lagers are presented, which are matched accordingly to the selected dishes. The craft beer tasting “Beer Flight” is particularly recommended.

Appealing fitness center

If you want to relax after an extensive sightseeing and shopping day or a strenuous day at work, the large Hilton Fitness Club offers the right balance. A swimming pool, a very attractively equipped fitness center, sauna and massage are all part of the offer. The stylish Listo Lounge provides creative cocktails for a cozy evening ending.

Currywurst à la Hilton

Right across from the Hilton, there is one, if not the best currywurst in Berlin. The “Dom Curry” at Gendarmenmarkt almost gives the cult snack a new perspective. In addition to the traditional version, they also offer buffalo or ostrich currywurst. A special homemade curry sauce is, of course, a given. The sausages are served in style on white porcelain dishes. What many do not know is that this snack bar is owned by the Hilton next door. The sausage varieties were also created by the chef of the Mark Brandenburg restaurant. A true snack bar experience with a beautiful view of the cathedral.
