01Controller and scope
This policy explains which personal data Luxvisor.com processes when you read the magazine, comment on an article or contact us, why we do so, and which rights you have. The controller is Luxvisor.com, c/o RHM | RogerHohlManagement, Roger Hohl, Luchten 1280, 9427 Wolfhalden, Switzerland, info@luxvisor.com.
We are based in Switzerland and process data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to readers in the European Union, we also comply with it and name the relevant legal basis below.
02Visiting this website
Luxvisor is a static website: pages are generated in advance and delivered as plain files. You do not need an account, and we do not build a profile of you.
When you open a page, our host automatically records technical data in server log files so that the site can be delivered securely and attacks can be detected:
- IP address and date and time of the request
- requested page and amount of data transferred
- referring website (if your browser sends it)
- browser type, operating system and language
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are kept only as long as they are needed to detect and investigate attacks and are then deleted automatically by our host.
- Host
- Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. The website is stored on servers in the European Union.
- Purpose
- Hosting and delivery of the website, security
04Analytics
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles are read and how readers find us. This helps us decide what to review next and powers the “Most read” list on our homepage. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes, among other things, pages viewed, time spent on the site, approximate location (country or city), device and browser information and the referring website. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data is retained for 14 months and then deleted.

05Advertising
Luxvisor is financed in part by advertising. Ads are marked as “Advertisement” and are kept separate from our editorial content; advertisers have no influence on our reviews. We show two kinds of ads:
- Google AdSense. With your consent, Google may use cookies to show ads based on your interests and to measure how ads perform. Without consent, Google shows only non-personalised ads, which use cookies solely for frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting.
- Ads booked directly with Luxvisor. These are delivered from our own server as simple images and links. They do not use cookies and do not track you.
- Provider
- Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (Google AdSense); Luxvisor.com for directly booked ads
- Transfer
- Google may transfer data to Google LLC in the USA, certified under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
- Legal basis
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for personalised ads; legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for non-personalised and directly booked ads

07Contact form and email
If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we process your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message to answer your enquiry. The form contains a hidden spam trap; we do not use a CAPTCHA service. Messages are delivered by email via our host’s mail server.
Legal basis: answering your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in corresponding with readers and partners (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete enquiries once they are settled, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
08Search, fonts and maps
Some features that usually involve third parties work without them on Luxvisor:
- Search runs entirely in your browser. Search terms are not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Fonts are served from our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or other font services.
- Maps in our reviews are images created in advance from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors). Viewing them does not load anything from a map provider.
10Transfers abroad
Some of the providers named above process data outside Switzerland, mainly in the European Union and, for Google, in the USA. Switzerland recognises the EU as providing adequate data protection. For transfers to the USA we rely on the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses.
11Your rights
Under the FADP and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to:
- request information about the personal data we hold about you
- have incorrect data corrected
- have your data deleted or its processing restricted
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests
- receive your data in a common, machine-readable format
- withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future
To exercise these rights, write to info@luxvisor.com. You may also complain to a supervisory authority. In Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU the authority in your country of residence.
12Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we change the website or add services, for example a newsletter. The current version is always available on this page.
