Luxury resort island Velaa Private Island Maldives has taken wellbeing to a new level with the opening of the Wellbeing Village. Situated in the heart of the island, this oasis is surrounded by lush greenery and complements the resort’s comprehensive wellness offering. The Velaa Wellbeing Village consists of the Yoga Pavilion and Pilates Studio, which have already opened, as well as the FAIY restaurant. The highlight of the village is the Eveylaa Wellbeing spa, which will open in May 2023 and will offer holistic medical treatments, traditional Ayurvedic healing methods, and Eastern medicine. All the offerings at the Wellbeing Village are tailored to meet individual guests’ needs and create balance between the four pillars of spa treatments, nutrition, mindfulness, and fitness. The Wellbeing Village will open on the evening of April 30, 2023, with a grand inauguration ceremony. The new spa will mark a milestone for the island, said Wayne Milgate, general manager of Velaa Private Island.

Eveylaa Wellbeing

The Eveylaa Wellbeing spa will offer guests two treatment rooms for couples, with Ayurvedic beds, Shirodhara stands, and traditional steam boxes. Besides ayurvedic massages like Abhyanga or Kati Vasti, guests can also enjoy various herbal treatments for the face and body. The second part of the spa focuses on osteopathy, with a European steam room, modern spa treatment beds, and a floating capsule. A professional Ayurvedic doctor, as well as international osteopaths representing the entire spectrum of ancient holistic healing, will be available to advise guests at any time.

The FIY Restaurant Concept

The wellbeing-inspired FAIY restaurant, which opened in January 2023, is part of the Wellbeing Village. The concept is inspired by a holistic and healthy lifestyle, and only fresh, natural, and high-quality ingredients are used. The à-la-carte menu is divided into three different lines, including “Detox,” “Fresh,” and “Spa,” which offer healthy options for a variety of diets. The drinks menu includes wellness mocktails, smoothies, and fresh juices enriched with antioxidants and vitamins to boost immunity and energy. A wine list carefully selected by sommeliers lists vegan, organic, biodynamic, and sustainably certified wines. The wellness kitchen complements the Eveylaa Wellbeing treatments, with a nutritionist creating harmony between the two facilities. FAIY is open six days a week and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an intimate setting with limited seating.

Who is behind Velaa Vita

Velaa Private Island is a resort island in the Noonu Atoll, Maldives, that was created by Radka and Jiří Å mejc with the dream of building a “beyond luxury” island resort and a personal home. The name “Velaa” means “turtle” in the local language and was chosen because generations of sea turtles nest and hatch there. The island is accessible by seaplane from Malé in just 45 minutes. The resort features 47 luxurious accommodations made from natural materials, with 18 built over water and the Romantic Pool Residence only accessible by boat for the ultimate seclusion. The design, by renowned Czech architect Petr Kolář, subtly references the turtle and combines contemporary luxury with Maldivian nuances. The resort offers three restaurants, two bars, and a wine cellar serving a mix of international and Maldivian cuisine. The Velaa Spa features traditional Asian treatments and facial treatments using cutting-edge European technology.
