Most luxury travel content is written by people who have never paid for a business class ticket in their life. Roger Hohl (Executive Editor) started Luxvisor in 2006, long before "travel blogging" was a thing, because he believed luxury travel deserved honest, independent journalism. Nearly two decades later, that belief hasn't changed. After travelling independently across the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, he grew tired of reviews that read like press releases and rankings that were quietly sponsored. Every seat tested. Every hotel paid for. Every opinion his own. He writes for readers who already know what good looks like, and want to know what's actually worth the money.

Must Read

For a few weeks now, Kos has gained a new addition to its luxury hotel segment. The excellent Greek hotel group, Ikos Resort, has opened its fourth hotel under the brand name, Ikos Aria. The hotel is located on the southwest side of the island in Kefalos, which means approximately 40 minutes by car to Kos town and about 20 minutes to the international airport of Kos. Undoubtedly, the hotel’s location is one of the most beautiful on the island, with a magnificent bay featuring a very extensive private beach, all nestled within a 19-hectare garden.

The hotel itself has 374 rooms, eight restaurants, and seven bars, offering a generous selection of sports and wellness facilities. All rooms have a panoramic view of the sea, and the à la carte restaurants have excellent menus from award-winning Michelin-starred chefs. The wine selection, with over 300 varieties, is more than impressive. Among the restaurants is also an all-dining buffet restaurant.

The sandy beach is around 850m long and invites immediate relaxation. In addition, indoor and outdoor pools are available, which can be heated if necessary. Of course, all pools are supervised, and food and drink requests can be fulfilled at any time.

The offered activity program is also extensive, with tennis, basketball, mountain bike rental, and numerous courses on Pilates, yoga, and Zumba. There is also a water sports center. Of course, there are extensive spa facilities, whether in the various treatment rooms, the special couple suite, the Jacuzzi, sauna, or steam room. And, of course, a modern fitness center is also available.

Mini Special

By the way, the hotel offers all guests the Mini Drive Adventure, where a Mini vehicle can be booked for free for a day to explore the island. The vehicle can be booked easily through the Ikos Mobile App. A fantastic offering!
