India is the next stop for SWISS’s newest long-haul aircraft. From 15 December 2026, Swiss International Air Lines will use its Airbus A350-900 on the route between Zurich and Mumbai, so passengers heading to India can experience the “SWISS Senses” long-haul product for the first time. It comes with a completely new cabin offering more comfort and privacy, plus modern entertainment systems with larger screens.
Daily Until Early January, Then Six Times a Week
Until 3 January 2027 the A350 will serve Mumbai every day. From 4 January it will operate on six days a week, while the route itself continues to be flown daily. The aircraft is planned for the 2026/27 winter schedule only, so travellers who want the new cabin should book accordingly.
Until now SWISS mostly used an Airbus A330 to Mumbai. The A350 is faster: thanks to its lighter construction, more powerful engines and higher cruising altitude, the flight from Zurich takes around 8 hours and 10 minutes, 25 minutes less than before.

“SWISS Wanderlust” Stays on the A350
The airline also announced that the special livery “SWISS Wanderlust” on its first A350 will stay longer than planned. It was originally due to remain until the first quarter of 2027; SWISS has now decided to keep it beyond that, without naming an end date. The return to the classic SWISS paint scheme will be handled during an already scheduled repaint.
