Must Read

JW Marriott celebrates its debut in Spain with the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel Madrid, the first JW Marriott hotel in the country. Located in the Canalejas area, near the famous Puerta del Sol, the hotel offers guests an urban retreat to relax and refuel in the heart of the city. The hotel’s design, exceptional service, and a focus on holistic wellbeing are key features of this luxury hotel.

JW Marriott is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio, which boasts 30 exceptional hotel brands. Candice D. Cruz, Vice President of Luxury Brands for Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International, says: “With every hotel opening, JW Marriott brings the tradition of luxurious hospitality combined with holistic wellbeing, the foundation of the brand philosophy, to the destination. The JW Marriott Hotel Madrid captures the soul of the city and invites guests to free themselves from stress and distractions and focus on what really matters in life.”

New Kind of Luxury

The JW Marriott Hotel Madrid is designed to provide guests with a new kind of luxury that inspires inner balance and a focus on the present. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the city from their room terraces or relax in the green JW Garden El Patio, where ingredients for the hotel’s restaurant and cocktail bar are grown. The hotel also offers a variety of ways for guests to practice mindfulness, such as arranging a picnic with local specialties in one of the city’s parks.

The hotel’s philosophy is based on the belief that true luxury lies in having the time and space to focus on oneself. With 139 rooms, the hotel offers an inspiring retreat in the heart of the Spanish capital, with most suites featuring large terraces with spectacular city views. In addition to the well-equipped fitness and wellness area, the hotel offers special amenities in the rooms that allow guests to create their own individual wellness journey. All rooms have yoga mats available, and via a QR code, guests can access video workouts and meditation exercises free of charge. The bathroom menu is designed to stimulate all five senses and includes special playlists and customizable lighting, turning every bath into a private spa experience.

The Historical Spirit of Madrid

The JW Marriott Hotel Madrid also captures the historic spirit of Madrid. Housed in a building that was once one of Madrid’s oldest perfumeries, the hotel’s architecture and design were created by the Rockwell Group. The hotel’s elegant design combines natural materials and a neutral color palette to create a cozy atmosphere. The preservation of selected elements, such as the wrought-iron columns from the 19th century that can be found throughout the building, makes the history of the building tangible.

Madrid is associated with the sensual scents of violet, tuberose, carnation, and rose. To pay homage to the building’s unique history and the city’s sensual past, the JW Marriott Hotel Madrid has created a holistic wellness experience that stimulates the senses. Guests are greeted with a traditional tea scented with violet or rosemary, served in a handmade ceramic cup. Guests can choose from five “Madrid fragrances” that will be placed in their wardrobe. In the lobby, guests can explore an exhibition of old perfume bottles, books, and essences in peace. Guests can continue their scent discovery journey in collaboration with the Spanish Academy of Perfume.

The JW Marriott Hotel Madrid promises to be a unique and unforgettable experience for anyone seeking a luxurious retreat in the heart of Madrid.
